Chicago River Cruise

Chicago Cycleboats - Public Tour

Tour Description

Grab a seat on one of our group rides! Public Cycleboat tours hold 10 pedalers and 6 riders for a total of 16 passengers. All rides are BYOB, 90 minutes or 120 minutes long and depart from the Chicago Riverwalk (between the Wells Street and LaSalle Street bridges). Get ready to experience the city like never before!

A bike ride, a boat ride or just along for the ride, Chicago Cycleboats has got your ticket to ride! Riders sit on comfortable bike seats at a table as they cycle at their own pace and passengers can sit or stand while they enjoy the view, the cruise, and the company. Riders and cyclers can switch places at any time!

On rare occasions, large groups may need to sit on separate boats based on other bookings. To guarantee all members of large groups sit on the same cycle boat, we recommend booking a private tour.

Important Information

All rides depart from 155 W. Riverwalk S

Please remember that your reservation time is a departure time. You will need to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to leave the dock on time. Be sure that each individual in the party has signed the digital waiver and confirmed their e-mail address prior to your arrival. We will ask you to see your digital waiver confirmation e-mail before you’ll be allowed to board the boat.

Chicago Cycleboats reserves the right to delay a cruise past the scheduled departure time.

Weather Policy

Chicago Cycleboats operate rain or shine! If the weather is deemed as too severe by our Cycleboat staff, a ride will be rescheduled and you will be contacted immediately. If we do not contact you, that means all cruises for the day will be going out as scheduled.

All Private Cruises must be canceled one week (7 Days) prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. All Public Cruises must be canceled 72 hours (3 Days) prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. All cancellations must be submitted via email to [email protected]

Operations Temporarily Suspended

Dear Friends and Fellow Boaters,

We are grateful to each of you for your support and interest in cruising with us during this time.

Chicago Electric Boat Company, Chicago Retro Boats, Chicago Cycleboats, and Downtown Docks will remain temporarily closed because Illinois has extended the Stay-At-Home order until April 30. Until the order is lifted individuals should avoid any nonessential activities. If you book a cruise after April 30 and the Stay-At-Home order is extended, a refund will automatically be issued.

We are confident that our collective experience will bring us together as a community. We are excited and ready for you to cruise with us once the Governor and the Mayor allow small group gatherings. Our pledge is to ensure you a wonderful and safe cruising environment for the Spring and Summer of 2020 and beyond. We, like many other businesses, will be activating new cleaning and sanitization protocols when we reopen. We are optimistic our boats will be a haven for small groups of friends and families.

We will continue to follow the guidance from Gov. Pritzker, Mayor Lightfoot, CDC, and WHO. We will continue to post updates on our social media platforms.

Stay well. Stay positive. We are all in this together.
